The Futurity is a breeding program designed to promote and encourage a breeder to breed the best quality show horse possible by selecting correct mares and using stallions to compliment the mares. It gives a breeder a chance to use his/her judgement. The ASPC Futurity includes a Classic/Foundation Futurity as well as Modern/Modern Pleasure Futurity.

The Classic/Foundation Futurity is a five year program (Weanling, Yearling, 2 Year Old, 3 Year Old and 4 year Old).

The Modern/Modern Pleasure is a four year program (Weanling, Yearling, 2 Year Old and 3 Year Old)

Please Note you may decide to nominate and sustain BOTH the Modern/Modern Pleasure and the Classic/Foundation Futurity but you are only allowed to show in one).

You must be a current member in good standing to enter the futurity. The AMHR Futurity is a 4 year program (Weanling, Yearling, 2 year old and 3 year old).

AMHR Futurity Guidelines

The following guidelines are intended to furnish general information to the prospective Futurity participant. Instructions not specifically covered here can be obtained by calling the office at 309-263-4044 and asking for the Futurity Department.

You must be a current member in good standing to enter the Futurity.

Foals Must be Registered by Nov 1st of the Foaling Year.

Eligibility

• Animals must be registered AMHR
• Animals must be within the size limitations (38" & under)
• Mares must be 3 years old at date of foaling
• Stallions must be 2 years old to breed

The ASPR Futurity is the newest futurity which started with Foals born in 2015. This breeding program encourages breeders to breed the best quality ASPR show horses possible by selecting the correct mares and using stallions to compliment the mares. It gives a breeder a chance to use his/her judgement. The ASPR Futurity is a five year program (Weanling, Yearling, Two Year Old, Three Year Old and Four Year Old) determined at the ASPC/ASPR Congress using the Modern Shetland Futurity Judge.

Rules & Guidelines

You must be a current member of the organization.

Animal Eligibility:

All Colts in the AMHR Futurity (Yearling Colts) are eligible

Fee Structure:

• $25.00 payment due April 1st to make Colt eligible
• $100.00 Payment due April 1st to sustain Two-Year-Old Colt
• $100.00 payment due April 1st to sustain Three-Year-Old Colt (Horse must be gelded by the time he is to show in the Three-Year-Old Super "G" Futurity Classes)

Showing Rules & Regulations

• There are 4 Super "G" Futurity Classes, Division A and B
• Horse may be shown in either Halter or Pleasure Driving (NOT BOTH)
• The program eligibility is transferable to new owners
• Late buy-in fees are double the regular fee for the year omitted
